Installation steps of gabion for revetment

when installing gabion net, we should pay attention to the following points and follow the steps:

Step 1: arrange the staggered joints of gabion net in place to avoid longitudinal through joints

Step 2: erect the four sides of the lead wire cage and lock the adjacent edges with binding wires. When binding the lock, screw the binding wires around the two overlapping frame lines (when sewing edges) or the double kink edges of the frame lines and the mesh cage (when sewing grids) in a spiral manner to avoid heavy galvanizing damage. The pitch shall not be greater than 50 mm

Step 3: when the gabion net is installed on the completed bottom layer net, it shall be fixed on the bottom layer gabion net along the lower frame of the newly installed lead wire cage with binding wire, and the adjacent lead wire cages on the first layer shall also be fastened with binding wire to make the lead wire cages connected together;

Step 4: during the construction of the first horizontal layer of a unit project, the lead wire cages shall be fully in place before the pebbles are filled. In order to prevent the deformation of the lead wire cages, the height difference between the two adjacent lead wire cages (including the adjacent cells of a gabion net) shall not be greater than 35 cm;

Step 5: before the installation of gabion net, the bank slope and ground shall be properly trimmed, and the original shape of the bank slope shall be maintained as far as possible, but there shall be no obvious uplift and depression; The filled pebble shall be selected on the flood plain, and its compressive strength shall meet the design requirements. The particle size of the pebble shall be between 8 ~ 20cm, and the size shall be matched reasonably to meet the design requirements of the porosity and the linear shape of the lead wire cage;

Step 6: when filling pebbles in the gabion net, the exposed surface shall be paved with pebbles with a particle size of not less than 10 cm and leveled manually to obtain a beautiful surface and prevent the pebbles from being washed away from the net by the water flow. Should be over filled with stone 2 5 ~ 3cm high to allow for settlement;

Step 7: after the gabion net is filled with stones, the top cover shall be covered, and then the two overlapping frame lines shall be screwed tightly with binding wires, and the screw pitch shall not be greater than 50 mm;

Step 8: pave and fill 10 ~ 15cm humus on the built gabion net to facilitate the growth of vegetation.
